Irina Shayk knows a thing or two about playing the part of a Russian bombshell. No wonder Bradley Cooper’s smitten. Ever since 2007, when she appeared in the annual Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, she’s enjoyed a fast rise to modeling’s highest ranks. Here, the 30-year-old shared her take on beauty, wellness, and that ugly thing called puffiness. And: she’s no dummy. She’ll have you know she enjoys her baths with a little Dostoevsky on the side.
Never leave the house without:
Céline sunglasses.
Beauty from the inside out:
An organic protein shake.
Exercise regime:
Jujitsu with Mike Medrano! Pilates with Andrea Mitchell at Rinaldi Pilates.
Snack of choice:
Dry mango, or Kefir.
Beauty essentials:
L’Oréal Paris Youth Code Day & Night Cream is my fave. It’s great for all skin types. I apply L’Oréal Paris Extraordinary Hair Oil for every night for my dry hair
Skincare ritual:
Use coconut oil; it is one of the best moisturizers. Use it right after the shower on wet skin and then wipe it off with a towel.
In-tub must-read:
Fyodor Dostoevsky’s The Idiot.
Spa-cation at:
Spa88, the Russian baths at 88 Fulton St. Or Juvenex Spa (in Koreatown) for the best Korean scrub.
Always in your suitcase:
Sun block, swimsuits, face massager for face drainage when I travel, L’Oréal Paris Rouge Lipstick for a night look.
Best advice from mom:
In the morning, I always use a cube of ice on my face — it gives me a natural lift. Stay away from the sun and remember the skin on a woman’s neck, hands and face is sensitive and ages easily, so apply a high SPF sunscreen on those areas.
Anything else:
Don’t forget to eat a lot of greens and fish oil pills. Those are two of the best things to keep your skin glowing.
